Sound Currency
Given the out of control spending in Columbus and Washington, and the lack of oversight in the Federal Reserve, Ohioans are left in a very vulnerable spot. That is why I support the Ohio Honest Money Project. OHMP is not only a solution to the anticipated high inflationary environment to come, but it is also a first step towards ending the recurrent boom-bust cycle.
Ultimately, Ohioans will have to decide whether they want to continue to trust politicians in Washington [and Columbus] with their economic future or take matters into their own hands by legalizing a hard money currency in Ohio, to compete freely with the devalued Federal Reserve notes. One path leads to more control and the other leads to more freedom and stability.

Ohio Sovereignty
It seems like Ohioans are forced to comply with more and more federal mandates every day. The founding fathers however, understood that the government works best when governing closest to the people. That is the reason why they set up each State as its own sovereign entity.
The founding fathers even went as far as to protect that right with the 10th amendment which states: "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people." Therefore, as your State Representative, I will work with every fiber of my being to nullify any federal statutes, laws, and/or mandates that violate the sovereignty of the State of Ohio and the Constitution of the United States.

Energy
Issues regarding energy policy have been at a forefront in Ohio for many years. Among the concerns are rising prices, a dependency on foreign sources, and a desire for “greener” alternatives. To rely solely on one source of energy will ensure that consumers are plagued with rising costs and potential supply interruptions.
It is my belief that a Free-Market will perform better than government regulations at providing consumers with the energy they desire. Unhindered and unsubsidized competition among energy technologies is the best way to provide less-costly, more efficient, reliable energy sources.
If elected I will:
· Support the repeal of federal and state restrictions on reliable energy sources.
· End subsidies, regulatory barriers, and policies that negatively affect alternative energy sources.
· End restrictions on oil and gas exploration.
· Work to lower or eliminate consumption taxes.
· Oppose “Cap-and-Trade” programs.

Environment
Governments, unlike private businesses, are unaccountable for damage done to our environment and have a terrible track record when it comes to environmental protection. Protecting the environment requires a clear definition and enforcement of individual rights in resources like land, water, air, and wildlife.
I believe that free markets and property rights stimulate the technological innovations and behavioral changes required to protect our environment and ecosystems.

Education
The Constitution does not authorize the federal government the authority to oversee the education of our children, but since the federal government took control of the education system, the quality of education, and the financial burden placed on Ohioans to comply with unconstitutional federal mandates has had a crippling effect on Ohio. Not only are parents left with a lack of choices in education, but the bureaucracies themselves are creating a hostile environment that breeds mediocrity and waste. It does not help that state legislators have also failed in their duty to manage Ohio’s education system.
It is my belief that education is best when parents are given the opportunity to choose how their child will be educated. Since current funding denies most parents the ability to choose better schools outside of the public system, be it private, charter, or home schools, I believe that funding should follow the student to whatever school the parents deem best for their children. This would allow competition among the schools, and competition will improve education standards across the board. In order to do this we must give support to home schooled students, and extend vouchers for private education. It is my hope that the strangle-hold over Ohio’s education can be lifted, so that we can return the control of education to our local communities, allowing students to become specialized in the trades of their particular area, and meet the needs of local area businesses.

Business Friendly Ohio
The current business climate in Ohio is one that is hostile to current and potential business owners. Instead of placing more restrictions on businesses in Ohio, lawmakers should be focused on creating a climate that encourages existing business to grow, that clears red-tape for new and potential businesses, and that creates an environment that is encouraging for investment.
If elected, I will work to accomplish these objectives by:
· Lifting restrictive and costly regulations that cripple small businesses.
· Never rewarding bad business practices with bailouts (“too big to fail”).
· Reducing workers compensation costs.
· Drastically lowering the tax rate, to keep taxes on businesses low.
· Working to avoid corporate welfare, by eliminating government mandates and privatizing services.
· Drastically reducing capital gains taxes.
· Removing privileges enjoyed by labor unions.
· Opposing “card check” legislation.
· By working to restore economic freedom to Ohio.

Economic Freedom
A free and competitive market allocates resources in the most efficient manner. Each person has the right to offer goods and services to others on the free market.
The only proper role of government in the economic realm is to protect property rights, adjudicate disputes, and provide a legal framework in which voluntary trade is protected. All efforts by government to redistribute wealth, or to control or manage trade, are improper in a free society.

2nd Amendment – Gun Rights
I believe in the right to keep and bear arms, and oppose the prosecution of individuals for exercising their rights of self-defense. I oppose all laws at any level of government requiring the registration of, or restricting, the ownership, manufacture, transfer, or sale of firearms or ammunition.
It is my belief that restrictive gun laws help the criminal class, by making it harder for law abiding citizens to own firearms. I believe that criminals will always find ways to acquire firearms, regardless of the laws enacted.
